Hong Kong en 2023: entre la recuperación económica y la erosión gradual de libertades políticas y civiles

Resumen

Hong Kong tradicionalmente ha disfrutado de libertades civiles y políticas enmarcadas en la Ley Fundamental. Sin embargo, la implementación de la Ley de Seguridad Nacional ha mermado dichas libertades desde 2020. En virtud de sus disposiciones, destacadas figuras prodemocracia han sido arrestadas, mientras que partidos políticos y medios de comunicación independientes han sido reprimidos. La economía de Hong Kong se perfila hacia una recuperación gradual tras las protestas de 2019 y la pandemia de covid19. No obstante, dicha mejoría dependerá del aumento en el consumo interno y de la continua llegada de inversiones y de talento internacional. En el presente informe se analizan acontecimientos clave en el desarrollo de Hong Kong en 2023, así como su relación con China.
